Introduction

The potato park is situated in the Peruvian Andes, close to Pisaq village in Cusco area or department of Cusco, in this zone is preserved the biological diversity through the communities of “Amaru”, “Chawaytire”, “Pampallacta”, “Paru Paru” y “Sacaca”, it is a well-known Microgen center of the origins and diversity of the potato, one of the fourth most important crops in the world, produced and preserved centuries ago by the ancient Andean locals.

Itinerary: City tour, Potato Park, Machupicchu, South Valley, Coloured mountain

Day 01 transfer airport-hotel free afternoon

At your arriving, we will be waiting for you at the airport with a warm welcoming, after we will lead you to the hotel in order to receive the accommodation. You will have free time the rest of the day.

Day 02: City tour in Cusco

By afternoon we will pick you to visit our city. Our first attraction is the Cathedral of Cusco situated in the main square or Plaza de Armas, next we will visit The Temple of Qoricancha which is located two blocks from the main plaza or main square, continuing our tour we will go 2 kilometers outside of the city of Cusco to enjoy the archaeological sites as Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. The tour will finish around 18:30 hrs.

Day 03: The Potato park visit

In the morning after breakfast, we will pick you from the hotel to start our adventure, we will travel in our touristic bus during 40 minutes approximately until Pisaq village and travel 40 minutes more to reach the Potato park, after a reception with traditional music and flowers we begin our way to arrive the communities of “Paru Paru” and “Chawaytire”, in our visit a representative of the communities will give us an introduction and interpretation about the park and the diversity of the native potatoes that are grown in the park, as well as the properties that possess this important crop, after having a delicious lunch, we will return to Cusco.

Day 04: Machupicchu full day

We will pick you up very early in order to travel 2 hours approximately until arriving the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will aboard the train which will take us to Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu), the trip will lasts 2 hours during the route you will be able to appreciate the corn plantations, and flora of the tropical jungle, when you arrive, there will be a person ( our transfer ) who will help you to aboard the bus to get “The Lost City of The Incas Machupicchu”. At the access your guide will meet you to enter the site and you will have 2 hours approximately of a guiding tour.

After enjoying and taking many photos to this marvel of the new world, you will get back to the bus station to take the shuttle bus down to Aguas Calientes, by afternoon we will go to the train station to return to Cusco.

Day 05: South Valley of Cusco

This day we will enjoy the visit of the south part of Cusco, to do it our start is from the hotel at 8:40 in the morning. The first point will be Tipon followed by Pikillacta, a pleasing site of the Culture Wari, finishing with the view of the colonial Temple of Andahuaylillas, Returning to the city of Cusco at 14:30 hrs.

Day 06: Rainbow mountain

This day we will pick you up very early to start our adventure of trekking, we will trip in our touristic bus 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately, to get the restaurant for having a delicious breakfast, around 8:00 am, we will continue the trip for 1 hour more to get the start point of trekking, The walk to the Rainbow mountain will last 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately, once there in the top we will be able to take many photos and enjoy the scenery, after we will descend using the same route we came to get our transport, then we will return to the restaurant to have lunch and recover energy, finally by afternoon we will return to Cusco.

Day 07: Moray & Maras salt mines

In the morning between 7:50 am and 8:15 am, we will pick you from your hotel, our tour begins with the visit of the textile center of Chinchero which is located 40 minutes outside of Cusco. Next step will be the visit of the archaeological center of Moray where we will observe and take photos of the circular terraces and finally we will visit Maras salt mines, all the tour will be leaded by our guide. The return to Cusco will be at 14:30 hrs. approximately.
