Introduction

Andahuaylillas is located southeast of the city of Cusco. In Inca times it was inhabited by the Ayarmacas, Pinaguas and Muynas. This town still maintains some colonial houses. The district is home to communities such as Quehuar, Salloc, Secsencalla, Ccachabamba, Yutto, Ttiomayo, Mancco, Churubamba, an annex known as Puca Puca and the smaller town of Piñipampa. All the communities base their economy on agriculture and livestock, some communities like Churubamba still maintain some traditions in the cultivation and harvesting of products, plus the village center is a producer of tiles and bricks famous throughout the region for its great handcraft production. Its main attraction of the district is the chapel of San Pedro.

Itinerary: Out of Town Holidays

Day 01: Transfer apt-htl in Andahuaylillas free afternoon.

At the time of your arrival to the city of Cusco I will be waiting for you at the airport with a warm welcome, then we will go to your hotel to receive your accommodation. You will have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02: South Valley from Andahuaylillas.

After breakfast we will board our transportation to go to Tipon, an emblematic sample of the Inca hydraulic wisdom, after the tour we will continue to Pikillaqta, one of the main cities of the Wari culture, considered the first in the pre-Columbian central Andes to have implemented the pattern of development of urban centers from ceremonial centers. Finally, we will be visiting Andahuaylillas, the chapel of San Pedro Apostle, built at the end of the XVI century and decorated with mural paintings both on the facade and throughout the interior.

Day 03: Rainbow mountain from Andahuaylillas.

In the morning, after breakfast we board our transport to travel for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to the starting point of the hike to the mountain of colors. The hike to the mountain of colors is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, once we reach the top, we can take many pictures and enjoy the scenery. Afterwards we will descend by the same route to our transportation, then we will return to the restaurant to have lunch and replenish our energy.

Day 04: Qeswachaca (Inca bridge) from Andahuaylillas.

After breakfast we will go to the viewpoint of Combapata where we will have a short stop, then we will continue to Pampamarca, then we will visit the volcano of Pabellones and we will have an exploration of approximately 30 minutes and finally we will visit the Inca suspension bridge. After lunch we will be returning to Andahuaylillas.

Day 05: Waqrapucara from Andahuaylillas.

We will pick you up after breakfast to go to the village of Santa Lucia where you can buy some snacks and water and then start the hike to Waqrapucara, the walking time is about 1 hour and 45 minutes, after enjoying the scenery and this beautiful archaeological complex we will enjoy our picnic lunch, finally we will be back to Andahuaylillas.

Day 06: Visit to a community of Andahuaylillas (optional)

This day will be unique because you can enjoy the customs and traditions of one of our communities, you can be part of the activities of growing corn, potatoes, some vegetables and fruits produced in the area in the company of a local family. In the afternoon we will have a horseback ride.

Day 07: Transfer to Cusco and overnight in Cusco.

After breakfast we will travel for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to the city of Cusco and overnight in Cusco.

Day 08: Travel to Aguas Calientes.

In the morning we will pick you up to go to Ollantaytambo train station for approximately 2 hours, once you take the train you will travel for 1 hour and 45 minutes to the town of Aguas Calientes, where our transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 09: Visit to Machupicchu and return to Cusco.

After breakfast we will go to the bus station to go to the Inca citadel of Machupicchu. At the entrance gate we contact our guide, then we will have the guided tour for about 2 hours. After enjoying and taking many pictures of this wonder of the modern world we will take our bus back to the village. In the afternoon we must go to the train station and return to the city of Cusco.
